A distinctive antique Rococo Revival armchair, dating approximately from the 1880s. Its elegant carved frame, high backrest and gracefully curved lines make it a fine example of late 19th-century decorative furniture.
The frame is crafted from solid mahogany. The proportions are particularly appealing: an exceptionally wide and stable seat combined with a high upholstered backrest makes the chair not only visually impressive but also remarkably comfortable and practical for everyday use.
The armchair has been fully and professionally restored. The wooden frame and structure have been carefully restored, while the internal cushioning and upholstery have been completely renewed with respect for the chair’s original character.
For the new upholstery, we selected the striking Zebra fabric from the Lauritzon’s collection. The contemporary animal pattern creates a bold yet sophisticated contrast with the classical form and deep tone of the mahogany.
Particular attention was given to the upholstery details. Instead of using conventional decorative trim, the edging was custom-made from the same upholstery fabric, creating a refined, continuous finish that makes the overall design feel more considered and elegant.
The fabric has also been professionally treated with SoftCare stain- and dirt-repellent protection, making the light-coloured upholstery more practical for everyday use.
A distinctive combination of historical form and bold contemporary textile — a statement armchair equally suited to classical, eclectic or modern interiors.
