Chaise Longue LC4 - Cassina / Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret & Charlotte Perriand

3 900,00 €

An icon of modernist design — an original Chaise Longue LC4 manufactured by Cassina, a beautifully preserved vintage example with its original markings.

The LC4 was designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier in collaboration with Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. The human body was at the centre of its design: the shape of the chaise follows the body’s natural contours and allows the reclining position to be adjusted for maximum comfort. The geometric clarity of its construction reflects Le Corbusier’s broader exploration of human proportions and ergonomics.

The authenticity of this particular piece is supported by its preserved manufacturer’s markings, serial number and original Cassina paper label on the underside of the frame. During the restoration, particular care was taken to preserve as many of the chair’s important original elements as possible.

The chaise longue has been fully and professionally restored. For the new mattress, we selected high-quality Swedish Elmosoft semi-aniline leather by Elmo in a sophisticated light pearl shade with a subtle, soft sheen. The natural leather emphasises the clean architectural character of the LC4 and creates an elegant contrast with its chromed steel structure.

The headrest has been reinterpreted using the iconic Zebra fabric by Artek — a distinctive textile that became part of the Artek collection in the 1930s. The graphic black-and-white Zebra pattern gives the piece an individual character while maintaining a connection with the history of European modernism.

The original mattress in natural black cowhide and the original black leather headrest have also been preserved and remain in good vintage condition. They can be purchased together with the chaise for an additional price upon request, allowing the LC4 to be returned to its original historical configuration if desired.

The LC4 is one of the most recognisable design objects of the 20th century: sculptural, functional and exceptionally comfortable, combining the geometry of modernism with the natural contours of the human body.

Excellent condition following professional restoration.
