A rare original Sorry swivel lounge chair, designed by Swedish designer Hasse Ljungquist for Overman AB, Tranås, in 1967. Introduced during the late 1960s, the model is an exceptional and collectible example of Swedish Mid-Century design.
The Sorry is distinguished by its remarkably sculptural, enveloping form. The wide, rounded shell embraces the sitter, while the low seating position and generous curves make the chair both visually striking and exceptionally comfortable. The swivel base adds functionality and reflects the experimental approach to furniture design characteristic of the 1960s.
The chair has been fully and professionally restored. When selecting the new upholstery, our intention was to remain as close as possible to the original character and colour palette of the piece.
For the restoration, we chose high-quality Swedish Elmosoft semi-aniline leather by Elmo in a rich, deep brown tone. The natural character of the leather has intentionally been preserved: subtle variations in colour, texture and characteristic natural marks and scars remain visible on the surface. These are not imperfections, but part of the authenticity and beauty of genuine leather, which will continue to develop an individual patina over time.
The deep brown colour, subtle sheen of the leather and sculptural silhouette create an exceptionally elegant combination. The Sorry works beautifully as a single statement piece, while two chairs placed together create a particularly strong and balanced composition.
